This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). 1. Who we are Glass Showers and More is the operating name of Mirror Your World Installation (1989) Inc., a custom glass and mirror company serving the Greater Toronto Area. We supply and install frameless glass showers, glass railings, office partitions, custom mirrors, vanities, wine cellars, and related products. Information we collect We collect only the personal information we need to quote, schedule, and complete your project: Contact information – your name, mobile and/or landline phone number, email address, and the service address where work is to be quoted or performed. Project information – measurements, product selections, photographs of the work area, site notes, and installation details. Transaction information – quotes, invoices, deposits, payment records, and warranty history. Credit card and payment card numbers are processed by our payment provider and are not stored by us. Communication records – notes from phone calls, emails, and text messages exchanged with our office, and a record of the consent you have given us to contact you. Website information – the information you enter in our contact and “Get a Quote” forms, including your preferred contact method and preferred contact time. Our website may also collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, through cookies and analytics tools. We do not collect sensitive personal information such as social insurance numbers, health information, or government identification. 3. How we collect your information We collect personal information directly from you when you: call our office, visit our showroom, or speak with our staff in person; submit a contact or “Get a Quote” form on gsmglass.ca; email or text our business number; sign a quote, work order, or invoice; or are referred to us by a builder, designer, contractor, or property manager who is arranging work on your behalf. 4. Why we collect your information We use your personal information to: prepare and send quotes and estimates; schedule and confirm measurement and installation appointments; contact you about the status of your order, including when materials arrive; answer your questions and provide customer support; process payments and maintain invoicing and warranty records; and meet our legal, tax, and insurance obligations. We do not use your personal information for any purpose unrelated to your project without first obtaining your consent. 5. Text messaging (SMS) – mobile information How we obtain consent. We collect consent to send you text messages verbally, one-to-one, when you contact us by phone or in person to request a quote, measurement, or installation. Before adding your number, a member of our staff will ask whether you would like us to text you about your project and will tell you that messages come from GSM Glass staff, that message frequency varies depending on your project, that message and data rates may apply, and that you may reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts or HELP for help. We add your number only if you agree, and we record the date, time, and staff member who obtained your consent. Submitting a form on our website is not consent to receive text messages. If you provide a mobile number through our contact or “Get a Quote” form, we will respond by phone or email. We will only text you if you separately agree to it during a conversation with our staff. We do not purchase, rent, or obtain phone numbers from third-party lists, lead brokers, or affiliates. What we send. Text messages on this program are written individually by our office staff and relate only to an active or requested job – appointment scheduling and confirmations, quote follow-ups, material arrival notices, installation coordination, and answers to your questions. We do not send marketing, promotional, or bulk text messages. Message frequency varies depending on the status of your project. Costs. Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. How to stop. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from us, by telling any GSM Glass staff member, or by emailing info@gsmglass.ca. We will stop texting you immediately and record the request. Reply HELP to any message, or call 416-491-8815, for assistance. Opting out of text messages does not affect our ability to contact you by phone or email about your project. Sharing – mobile numbers and consent. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell, rent, or trade mobile phone numbers or SMS content data. Mobile numbers are disclosed only to our messaging service provider, solely for the purpose of delivering the messages you have consented to receive, and to our installation staff who need the number to coordinate work at your address. 6. Cookies and website analytics Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, keep the site functioning correctly, and understand how visitors use it. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do. We do not use website tracking data to build advertising profiles or to sell information about you. 7. Sharing your information We share personal information only where necessary to deliver our services, and only to the extent required: Installers and subcontractors – the name, address, phone number, and project details needed to complete your installation. Suppliers and fabricators – measurements and product specifications required to fabricate your glass. Where possible, orders are placed without your contact information. Service providers – our messaging provider, payment processor, accounting software, and IT providers, each bound to protect the information and to use it only for the services they provide to us. Legal and safety – where we are required to disclose information by law, court order, or regulatory authority, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a person or to establish or defend a legal claim. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, for any purpose. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing. Some of our service providers may store data outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that is the case, the information may be accessible to the courts and law enforcement of that jurisdiction. 8. How long we keep your information We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, and to meet our legal and warranty obligations: Quotes that did not proceed – up to 2 years, then deleted. Completed projects – for the life of the product warranty plus 7 years, to support warranty claims and meet Canada Revenue Agency record-keeping requirements. Mobile numbers and text message history – for the duration of your project and the warranty period, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. Opt-out records – retained indefinitely, so that we do not contact you again in error. 9. How we protect your information We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These include password-protected systems and devices, access limited to staff who need the information to do their jobs, secure disposal of paper records, and agreements with our service providers requiring them to safeguard the information they handle for us. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we review our practices regularly and will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you. 10. Your rights Under PIPEDA, you have the right to: Access the personal information we hold about you and be told how it has been used and disclosed; Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete; Withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions – including consent to be contacted by text; and Request deletion of your information, where we are not required to retain it by law. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 12. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request. 11. Children Our services are directed to adult property owners, builders, and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. 12.
